In 2019, Mexico's cigarette production amounted to more than 19 billion Mexican pesos, an increase of 6.7 percent in comparison to the previous year. In the depicted period, production of this type of tobacco product reached its peak in 2016, at nearly 19.5 billion pesos. In the second half of the 2010s, Mexico sold more than two billion cigarette packs per year.
