Governance risk score in conflict region MENA 2020, by country
In 2020, Yemen and Syria had the highest score of 8.7 for governance risk among conflict countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Although the COVID-19 cases in the region were low by international standards, the conflict and humanitarian crises which left more than 57 million people in those countries in need of humanitarian assistance even prior to the pandemic made them vulnerable to a greater threat.
