Risk of earthquake in conflict region MENA 2020, by country
In 2020, Syria was the country with the highest earthquake risk among conflict and risk countries in the Arab region at a score of 7.8. Although the COVID-19 cases in the region were low by international standards, the conflict and humanitarian crises which left more than 57 million people in those countries in need of humanitarian assistance even prior to the pandemic made them vulnerable to a greater threat.
