Capacity of nuclear reactors in operation and under construction in China 2009-2020

In 2020, the installed capacity of nuclear reactors operating in China amounted to approximately 51 gigawatts. The nuclear power capacity in China increased more than fivefold in only 10 years, with a significant volume of capacity additions. While many countries have been trying to shift away from nuclear energy, China has the highest number of nuclear reactor in plan as of 2022.
