Materials mobilised for domestic consumption in France accounted for 787 million metric tons (Mt) in 2018. These are mainly construction materials (383 Mt), agricultural products and derivatives (256 Mt) and fossil fuels (121 Mt). Other materials such as metallic minerals and other products represent 27 Mt of the materials mobilised. The materials used by the French economy are all the physical quantities of raw materials coming from the national territory or imported, minus exports, which aim at fulfilling the needs of the French economy.
