As of March 2022, roughly 40 percent of the surveyed hotels in Kenya expected to return, by the end of 2022, to the level of operations recorded previous to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Around 20 percent reported having already resumed the pre-COVID-19 level of activities. The health crisis strongly affected the Kenyan tourism industry. However, signs of recovery have been already registered, such as an increase in the number of international visitor arrivals.
