The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak at the beginning of 2020 actively contributed to the food online sales growth in Russia. The country's capital and the Moscow Oblast were projected to be the leading region in the segment, with nearly 82 billion Russian rubles in online food sales turnover. Saint Petersburg, together with the Leningrad region, followed, while for other listed cities, the estimated sales value was far below the two leading areas.
