Microsoft Teams was the most widely used application to deliver online lessons, followed by Zoom in Poland in 2022.
Platforms and devices used for e-learning
Online education was introduced due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Poland at the end of March 2020. The new learning model was mainly carried out in the form of a video meeting with schoolteachers. In terms of devices used for remote learning, most of Polish children used laptops, whereas tablets were the least popular study device among school pupils. Librus Synergia was the unquestionable leader among e-learning platforms used in Poland.
Challenges of online education
The unexpected transition to online education brought in several new challenges for everyone involved. According to over 44 percent of Polish parents and children, more time had to be dedicated to remote learning than the traditional model. Some of the significant negative consequences for pupils were the lack of peer contact and too much time spent online. Practicality-wise, problems with internet connection were the leading difficulty encountered during remote learning.
