As of October 2020, most children in Morocco (50 percent) went out to play, against the rules of confinement due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). Other main reasons for not complying with the lockdown protocols included boredom (27.6 percent), obtaining goods for consumption (21.5 percent), and work (17.4 percent). Furthermore, very few children (1.4 percent) went out to help parents and relatives.
The source revealed that almost the totality of interviewed households with children (99.4 percent) respected confinement measures. In fact, as of the said period, nearly 79 percent of all the surveyed households entirely respected COVID-19 confinement rules in the country.
