Between 2008 and 2020, the import value of arms in Nigeria fluctuated. In 2020, 125 million U.S. dollars of arms were imported into Nigeria. The largest value was reached in 2010 and 2014, when 188 million U.S. dollars and 218 million U.S. dollars of arms, respectively, entered Nigeria. The import of arms cover the supply of military weapons through sales, aid, and gifts. Globally, the United States and Russia are the main exporters of arms to the world.
