During a survey fielded in Canada and the United States in the second quarter of 2021, around 34 percent of respondents said they were going less to the movies since the COVID-19 outbreak. Half a year earlier, in the last quarter of 2020, the share stood at 44 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of interviewees willing to see a film at a theater went from 21 percent at the end of 2020 to 31 percent in mid-2021.
