Broadcasting hours of cohabitation-type reality TV programs in France 2010-2019
"Cohabitation" reality TV was the most common reality TV subgenre, as can be seen with the popularity of programs such as Big Brother or its French counterparts Loft Story and Secret Story. In these programs, a group of strangers lived together, often in an isolated location, to take part in different types of tests or competitions, most of the time resulting in the elimination of participants. That subgenre reached its peak number of broadcasting hours in 2017 and has decreased since then, reaching around two thousand hours in 2019.
