COVID-19 distance learning participation in Morocco 2020, by level of education
In Morocco in 2020, 36 percent, 20 percent, and 12 percent of households had children in primary school, middle school, and higher education, respectively. As of the same period, most of the enrollees in primary and middle schools in the country were more susceptible to forgo participation in distance learning activities put in place due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This was represented by 21 percent of respondent households (for primary school) and 17 percent of households (for middle school).
On the other hand, 69 percent and 56 percent of households had distance learning participants in secondary and higher education, respectively, who took part on a regular basis. Overall, distance learning activities during the pandemic were more unfound among enrolled children who lived in rural areas than in urban areas.
