In Belgium, the supermarket chain Match registered the highest annual spending on consumer goods with 2,562 euros per capita, on average. Data showed that the location of stores was a key factor driving the consumption of consumer goods. For instance, Colryut stores which were close to a point of sale of their main competitor Albert Hejin showed a lower annual spending (2,008 euros) than stores which were not (2,106 euros).
