According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on online travel agencies in Malaysia conducted in June 2023, 80 percent of the respondents stated that they used a smartphone in order to purchase or book tickets on online travel agencies. Malaysia has a smartphone penetration rate of around 89 percent, which correlates with the high amount of smartphones used to visit online travel agents.
