In 2020, cervixuteri was the human papilloma virus (HPV)-associated cancer with the highest mortality rate in Latin America and the Caribbean. That year, nearly 10 out of 100,000 inhabitants died due to this type of cancer . Oropharinx cancer ranked second, with a mortality rate of 0.75 people per 100,000 inhabitants.
