Physical store traffic during the summer sales period in France 2019-2020, by city
The sanitary measures required by the government concerning businesses during the deconfinement period seem to have substantially affected businesses in France. Indeed, an analysis of the attendance at the points of sale at the national and local levels indicates that the summer sales were marked by a significant drop in attendance. Paris recorded a 55.4 percent decline in flows, and was closely followed by Lyon with -52.5 percent, and to a smaller extent by Strasbourg with -43.9 percent.
