In 2020, levels of depressive symptoms were higher in the under 45 age groups than in over 45 age groups. Polish respondents between 18 and 24 years old experienced very high depressive symptoms in May, which declined in time. As stated by the source, it can be assumed that the lockdown period was challenging for 18-24-year-olds due to limited opportunities to fulfill needs characteristic of this age group (development of autonomy, meeting friends, non-family members, travel, etc.).
