The number of collaborative robots (cobots) installed every year was growing between 2017 and 2020. The year-over-year growth of installations peaked in 2018, reaching roughly 70 percent. In 2020, some 22,000 cobots were installed globally, a increase of about sic percent compared to the previous year.
Despite the growing number of new cobots deployed every year, cobots made up just a small fraction of total industrial robot installations in 2019.
