Percentage change in number of companies in Italy 2020, by region

The Italian region which recorded the highest growth rate in the number of new enterprises in 2020 was Campania, located in the South of Italy. In this region, the number of firms increased by 1.09 percent compared to the previous year. Indeed, four of the five provinces of Campania ranked among the Italian provinces with the highest percentage change in the number of enterprises. Naples ranked fourth, with a growth rate of 1.09 percent, significantly higher than the national average, which stood at 0.32 percent in 2020.
