In Spain, mobile users drastically reduced their mobility during the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in 2021. Data gathered by Google applications using location trackers showed that this is a trend that could still be observed after the official 2020 lockdown restrictions were lifted, with Spaniards reducing mostly their mobility to retail and recreation venues by an average of 59 percent.
