During Carnival weekend in the Colombian city of Barranquilla in 2019, the average rate of full accommodation rentals through Airbnb reached around 200 thousand Colombian pesos. Meanwhile, an Airbnb room in the city cost around 70 thousand Colombian pesos during those same days.
The Carnival of Barranquilla is one of the largest festivities in Colombia and officially takes place in the period from Friday to Wednesday before Lent.
