The number of tuberculosis infections in Latin America increased by three cases per 100,000 population (+6.67 percent) compared to the previous year. Therefore, the number of tuberculosis infections in Latin America reached a peak in 2022 with 48 cases per 100,000 population. Incidence of tuberculosis is the estimated number of new and relapse tuberculosis cases arising in a given year, expressed as the rate per 100,000 population. All forms of TB are included, including cases in people living with HIV.
