In 2020, the Polish government had plans to introduce a sugar tax. As of January 1st, 2021, the new tax officially came into effect. The vast majority of Poles (85 percent) found out about these changes from different media types. However, almost one-fifth of respondents stated that their knowledge on the matter comes directly from their own shopping experience.
