Japan: number of NHK broadcasting subscribers

The Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) counted about 44.48 million broadcasting subscribers in Japan in 2022. The number, which includes terrestrial, satellite, and special contract subscribers, slightly decreased compared to the previous year. NHK was founded in 1926 and re-established as a public broadcaster following a new broadcast law in 1950.
