As of the first quarter of 2021, capital goods formed the largest category of non-oil merchandise imports into Ghana. Including motor vehicles and excavators, imports from this category reached over 228 million U.S. dollars. Goods imported for consumption, in its turn, stood at an approximate value of 200 million U.S. dollars, while intermediate merchandise imports amounted to around 171 million U.S. dollars.
