Between October 2020 and September 2021, Polish households spent nearly 3.2 billion zloty on coffee consumption.

Coffee consumption saw an increase of 244 percent within just a half-decade, reaching nearly 116 thousand metric tons in 2019. Despite this overall consumption increase, the average Pole drank a steady volume of 190 grams of coffee per month. In terms of retail coffee pricing, a slight increase was also observed. In 2020, one-fourth of a kilogram of natural ground coffee was available to the country’s residents for an average price of 7.57 zloty.

Characteristics of Polish coffee drinkers

Almost 70 percent of Poles are regular coffee drinkers, with every second man and woman not imagining their day with a coffee. Ground coffee is the most popular and undisputed leader in terms of Polish people’s preferences. The leading reason for coffee drinking in Poland was the flavor offered by the dark drink.
