During the period surveyed, 66 percent of the respondents in Singapore who were high-income earners indicated that they would celebrate Lunar New Year despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation this year. In comparison, only 36 percent of survey respondents that were low income earners stated the same. Chingay, an annual street parade that is usually held in Singapore as part of the Lunar New Year celebrations, will be aired online for the very first time this year.
