Buses in use in Europe 2018-2021
The number of registered buses in Europe stood at some 882,000 in 2021, an increase of two percent compared with 2020. Of all the countries in the region, Switzerland had the steepest positive change with an increase of 7.5 percent. By contrast, Netherlands saw a decline of nearly five percent in its fleet utilization, which was the highest decline recorded during this period. Poland, Italy, and France account for almost half of all buses in use in the European Union.
