During the period surveyed, 49 percent of the respondents in Singapore indicated that they would celebrate Lunar New Year despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation this year. In comparison, 27 percent of survey respondents stated that they would not be celebrating Lunar New Year in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chingay, an annual street parade that is usually held in Singapore as part of the Lunar New Year celebrations, will be aired online for the very first time this year.
