Between 2010 and 2014, the banking industry in Romania recorded loses worth over eight billion Romanian lei. Subsequently, the net profit started to increase again, peaking in 2018 at nearly seven billion Romanian lei. By August 2020, the banking sector in Romania already registered net profit worth 4.5 billion Romanian lei.
