Logitech revenue worldwide 2016-2024, by segment
In 2024, the computer peripherals producer Logitech reported sales revenues of 4.29 billion U.S. dollars, of which 1.23 billion U.S. dollars was generated by its gaming segment. A further 821.44 million U.S. dollars in revenue was made from keyboard and keyboard-and-mouse combination (combo) sales.
Logitech’s History
The international company, Logitech, was founded in 1981 by three individuals: Daniel Borel, Pierluigi Zappacosta, and Giacomo Marini. Collectively, the group of computer scientists and engineers chose the name Logitech due to the root of the French word for software, “logiciel”. The company started as a consulting firm with contract work in publishing-related software development and hardware architecture. However, the Logitech team quickly changed paths when the computer mouse began to surface, and the birth of the computer peripherals company began. Logitech operates across the world, with its headquarters based in Lausanne, Switzerland, and with corporate offices in both California and Taiwan.
Research & Development
Logitech has maintained a solid level of expenditure on research and development (R&D), allowing the company to diversify and broaden its range of products, including gaming gear. In the past, pointing devices such as computer mouse products and wireless trackballs were the largest contributing segment for revenue. However, this segment has been overtaken by keyboards and combos, and gaming. The popularity of gaming products translated to revenue has almost tripled over the past five years.
