Breakdown of French women's basketball championship titles 1937-2019

The most successful club in the women's basketball championship was Tango Bourges Basket. The club won 14 championships. The 2019-2020 championship was cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic (COVID-19). The first edition was won in 1937 by the CA Mulhouse. Other women's championships had been played before this year but was not yet linked to the French Basketball Federation. Since its year of creation, women's basketball has been a very popular sport among French women. In 2019, basketball was the team sport with the highest number of female licensees in the world.
