Projections pointed out an oil consumption of 20 million metric tons by the industry sector in Africa as of 2019. The amount was slightly higher than in the previous year when the industry consumed 19 million metric tons. Overall, the final consumption of oil in the continent was at nearly 190 million metric tons in 2019.
