Forest land area in Latin America & the Caribbean 2010-2021

South America is the Latin American region with the vastest forest land. Of a total of nearly 938 million hectares covered by forest in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2021, some 842 million hectares were located in South America. At the beginning of the decade, this figure was just above 870 million hectares, which means that roughly 28 million hectares of South American forests were lost since 2010.
