Health foods promoting the effects of dietary fibers accounted for around 20 percent of products certified as "foods for specified health uses" (FOSHU) in Japan in the fiscal year 2020.
The FOSHU label designates food products with scientifically recognized health-promoting effects. Products bearing the label received the government's approval to be promoted with such health claims.
