In 2021, public expenditure on healthcare personnel reached approximately 38.7 billion euros in Spain, the highest figure reported during the analyzed period. Compared to 2010, public spending on wages for employees working in the public health sector increased by nearly 26 percent. Moreover, the public sector in Spain allocated around 7.3 percent of its GDP to healthcare in 2021.
