Data shows that ad-supported video-on-demand services were more likely to offer their viewers fresher content than SVoD services, with Roku having turned over 20.4 percent of its catalog between July and August 2020, and Pluto TV refreshing 15.9 percent. Meanwhile, SVoD leader Netflix turned over just 2.4 percent of its content catalog in the same time period. Whilst AVoD has yet to make the same impact as SVoD, keeping content updated and offering viewers something new to watch is likely to appeal to users, as quality content is a top priority among video streaming lovers.
