In 2020, internal investment in research and development for the Spanish biotechnology sector reached over two billion euros. By origin of funds, public administrations contributed the most to biotechnology investment in Spain, with approximately 824 million euros. Own funds from companies and organizations dedicated to R&D on biotechnology in Spain placed second, with investment amounting to more than 772 million euros as of that date.
