Black Friday sales are regarded as one of the major international shopping events. However, during the year 2020 (influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic) the shopping rates were unsure, due to the closing of non-essential shops and the felt solidarity towards small independent shops. Thus, as high-tech products are favored during Black Friday week, the source has examined the share of product sold during Black Friday in France. Since 2017, 49 percent of high-tech sales were made, a value that dropped to 42 percent in 2020.
