As of April 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, 31 percent of people surveyed across the United States said they did not know or had no opinion on when in the future they would feel comfortable going to movie theaters. Exactly one-fourth –25 percent– of respondents said they would be comfortable going to the movies over six months from then. During a survey conducted four months later, over 40 percent of the interviewees said they did not feel comfortable with the idea of going to movie theaters.
