Impact of COVID-19 on projected real GDP growth in Eswatini 2019-2022
Based on a study conducted in December 2020, the real GDP growth in Eswatini was estimated to contract in 2020 by 3.2 percent, which is in line with the effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the majority of the countries on the African continent. However, these negative effects are projected to clear out quickly with the economy recovering and growing by 1.4 percent and 0.7 percent in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
