Impact of COVID-19 on projected real GDP growth in Namibia 2019-2022
Based on a study conducted in December 2020, the Namibian real gross domestic product (GDP) growth was estimated to contract by 7.9 percent in 2020. In fact, the majority of the economies are envisioned to contract due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic roaming the world since late 2019. However, projections demonstrate that the economy is to pick up in 2021, with the GDP growing by 2.6 percent, before expanding even further in 2022 by 3.4 percent.
