Number of personal trainers in the United Kingdom (UK) 2011-2022
Trying to keep fit can be a constant battle, with many people in the United Kingdom turning to personal trainers to help them keep in shape. In 2011, there were just over 15 thousand personal trainers in the UK, a figure which rose to over 23 thousand by 2020. However, the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 posed a significant threat to this growing industry as many health and fitness establishments were forced to close their doors to the public, resulting in the decline of personal trainer businesses by about one thousand between 2020 and 2021. Despite this setback, the industry is forecast to recover and reach more than 25 thousand establishments in 2022.
