Share of municipal council membership candidates Saudi Arabia 2020, by gender
There was a large gender gap in the share of candidates for the membership of the municipal council in Saudi Arabia in 2020, were only 14 percent of candidates were female. This has led to a weak female participation rate in the municipal councils at about one percent.
