According to a survey carried out in October 2020 in Brazil, approximately 36 percent of smartphone users interviewed perceived fingerprint scanning as the most trusted and secure mean for authentication to access digital services through this device. Meanwhile, 21 percent of respondents stated to see passwords as the most secure form of authentication. The same top two methods were also chosen by participants as the easiest and most convenient authentication means.
