Chile's GDP energy intensity has decreased slightly in recent years, and stood at 600 barrels of oil equivalent per million U.S. dollars of GDP in 2022. A low ratio indicates that less energy is used to produce a unit of product and as this ratio increases, the amount of energy required to produce a monetary unit of economic production increases.
