Financial inclusion through points-of-sale (POS) terminals have gained popularity in Mexico in recent years. In the last quarter of 2020, there were more than 1.47 million terminals operating around the country, approximately 39 percent more that the amount registered at the beginning of 2019. Brazil was the Latin American country with the highest density of POS terminals, with 517 per 10,000 population in 2018.
