In 2018, the Shizuoka Cancer Center conducted 114 robot-assisted surgeries for rectal cancer, which was the highest number of such surgeries among hospitals in Japan. Shizuoka Prefectural General Hospital followed with 52 operations carried out with the assistance of robotic systems.
