The results of a survey in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in 2020 about the Arab youth showed that 91 percent of Arab youth respondents in Lebanon found it more difficult to find jobs following the COVID-19 pandemic. In that year, 30 percent of young Arab respondents from the MENA region had a worsened debt situation following the COVID-19 pandemic.

The survey question was as follows:
"When compared to before the COVID-19 outbreak, would you say that finding a new job is currently..."
Showing results for responses of "Much more difficult" and "A little more difficult".
The study was conducted in in two parts:
The first part was The Main Survey conducted in 17 countries between January 19 and March 3 2020 before the coronavirus outbreak with a count of 3,400 face-to face interviews, Covered countries were Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen.
Syria and Sudan were recently added to the latest year's version of the survey in 2020. Each country had 200 respondent. Margin of error for this survey was +/-1.7 percent.
The second COVID-19 Pulse Survey between August 18 and 26, 2020 following the COVID-19 crisis with a count of 600 face-to-face and online interviews divided equally between six countries: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, and Egypt. Margin of error for this survey was +/-4.0 percent.
All respondents were exclusively citizens of their countries and they were 50% male and female.
